HOPE (2025) - Shadow Installation
Masking Tape, Recycled Paper is collected in Emily Carr University. approx 1m x 1m, HOPE is a site-specific shadow installation created entirely from discarded paper collected across campus. By arranging irregular paper fragments under a controlled spotlight, the shadows form the silhouette of my own face—an immigrant self-portrait. The piece reflects the emotional fragmentation of starting life in a new country and the quiet hope that emerges when scattered parts reconnect into a whole. It invites viewers to slow down, shift their perspective, and discover meaning in light and absence.
