Black Bear Review
This work was selected through a competitive process as the back cover for Black Bear Review, Selkirk College’s graduating magazine. The concept emphasizes difference in perspective—both literally and metaphorically. The figures are shown upside down to challenge familiar ways of seeing and to reflect the idea that our thinking does not always align with conventional directions. This inversion becomes a visual statement about approaching ideas from unexpected angles. Bold, contrasting colours were intentionally layered to further amplify this sense of individuality and creative divergence, reinforcing the message that originality often emerges when we allow ourselves to see—and think—differently.
